Remy Ma is one of the illest female rappers to come out of New York City. As the lone female in Big Pun and Fat Joe's Terror Squad clique, Remy held her spot down until her unfortunate incarceration for 'shooting a friend' in 2008. While she's been away, the BX spitta has been relatively quiet on the music tip. A few joints and random prison interviews leaked here and there, but for the most part we haven't heard much from Remy, other than Papoose proposing to her. Yesterday, another nasty Twitter rumor about her dying in prison had a lot of sheep fooled, but she caught wind of the situation and called into Flex's show to dead the death rumors (ha!). After getting things straight with Flex, Ma hit up the Hot97 Morning Show's Peter Rosenberg, Cipha Sounds and K. Foxx for an in-depth interview about her life since going into serve her 8-year bid.
She revealed that despite her lengthy sentence her spirits remain high, and she still plans on hitting the rap scene hard when she comes home. If all goes well, Remy says she could be released as early as 2014, but there's a chance she'll have to stay in the bing until 2016. She has about 22 months left. Peter also asked her about her thoughts and relationship with Nicki Minaj. All her answers were positive but she admitted she hasn't spoken to Nicki in years, or had much contact with other rappers. She says 50 Cent and Keyshia Cole have been her most reliable allies (aside from Papoose). They've both helped out extensively with moral support and wrote letters to her, and to judges. As rap fans, the most disheartening part of her convo was when she opened up about Fat Joe and Terror Squad showing her no support whatsoever. Remy claims not a single member of TS reached out at all, other than exiled member Cuban Link.
