While a handful of on set videos have hit the internet, Game delivers official behind-the-scenes footage of his video for 'Celebration.' The first visual in support of his upcoming Jesus Piece LP takes us to a good old BBQ in L.A. as Chris Brown, Tyga and Wiz Khalifa have fun on set. Lil' Wayne's part will be filmed seperately in the coming weeks. Also look out for a remix to the SAP-produced single features Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, who's '1st of Da Month' is sampled on the feel good record.

Aggressive, gregarious, and infinitely connected'Chris Lighty, one of hip hop's most successful middle men, is dead at the age of 44. According to sources close to Chris and his team, he was found dead at home in the Bronx earlier today by his wife and his bodyguard. Chris allegedly died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Police confirmed to the New York Times that they are investigating the death as a suicide. Meanwhile, the New York Daily News cited unnamed sources that told them Chris shot himself after arguing with his estranged wife, Veronica:
'Lighty, 44'stepped outside his South Riverdale apartment about 11:30 a.m., after a spat with his wife, Veronica, police sources said.
Suddenly, a gun shot was heard and Lighty was found lying faceup with a 9-mm. pistol next to his body, sources said.'
Despite these troublesome circumstances, many in the music industry who knew Chris Lighty are remembering his vast influence and experience. Born in the same Bronx River Houses as hip hop music itself, Lighty got his first crack at the music business by carrying record crates for DJ Red Alert. He was known then as Baby Chris, the youngster of Red Alert's Violator crew. Then he became the road manager for The Jungle Brothers, and from there, Lighty was recruited by Lyor Cohen and Russell Simmons to work for RUSH Management. But Chris became a power player in his own right when he started his own Violator Management company, wheeling and dealing for clients like Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, Diddy, Mariah Carey'and most famously, 50 Cent.
In 2000, as the 'music lifestyle editor' for Vibe Magazine, I wrote a feature about hip hop's most influential siblings. There were the Dashes (Damon, Darren, Bobby), the Ronsons (Mark, Sam, Charlotte), the Deans (Chivonne, Darrin, Waah), the Rifkins (Steve, Jon, and Rich Isaacson),'and the opening spread was Chris Lighty, playing ball at his Jersey mansion, alongside his brothers Dave, Jonathan and Mike. What I remember most about that project and all the times that I worked with Chris afterwards, was his intensity, wealth of experience, and a brutal honesty that comes with self-confidence. Condolences go out to his family, his kids, his team, and his artists.

It has been a minute since my last blog but I am back with a few topics that I felt relevant enough to share at this level. The title really says it all for me. I have tell you I always meet people and even have family members that think just because I am in the music business so should they be and why aren't I giving out the free handout. This is a business and despite all the glamour and glitz there are people really breaking their necks on an individual and team basis.I have 16 to 18 hour days and try to juggle my business,a wife,a family and people think it is easy. The best is when my friends from the hood decide this is their new meal ticket and don't understand why they aren't rolling in the dough and take offense when they aren't being catered to as if they were a client and not someone trying to get on. I am very grateful to be in this business as something interesting is always going on and we are at a crossroads where the expansion of our business whether thru the digital realm or the brand marketing angle are creating new opportunities and income streams. That being said everyone should chase their dreams but remember it is up to you to make your dreams come true. The next man or woman shouldn't have their career used as your personal spring board. Gunplay is definitely having the best year of his life. While he was previously condemned to playing the shadow in Ross' Triple C's clique, 2012 is all about the wild homie's solo career. His verse on 'Power Circle' still gets quoted by rappers all over twitter, and his viral videos have upped the ante. Today's MMG viral is no exception. There's so many great moments here, I can't even describe. But take note that the metallic 'trippy stick' he's seen puffing on, in this clip, is actually a portable vaporizer full of hash oil. HA!

This is so cool it's scary. I mean'watch this hilarious Old Spice Muscle Music commercial starring physical comedy beefcake Terry Crews (I'm sorry that your character on The Newsroom sucks, Terry). It shows Terry playing an insane muscle-powered one-man-band getup. Like a homo-erotic version of The Music Man (ps: I appeared in a junior high school production of The Music Man.)
You are laughing.
But now you will stop laughing and start freaking out. Because after the video is over, Terry yells at you to make your own 'muscle music' and record it. All you have to do is tap different letters on your computer keyboard, and you'll see Terry's muscles twitch, drums beat, saxophones blow, and even random sausages appear!
The future is now. Another amazing commercial from the folks at Wieden Kennedy. Even if you don't want to spell like Old Spice, how can you not love this? I also loved the youtube comment: 'This is the most involved kegel exercise I've yet seen.'

Meek Mill took the DMV to church on Saturday night during his 'Dreams & Nightmares' tour stop at The Filmore in Silver Spring, Maryland. If hometown native Wale wasn't enough, to the surprise of fans Drake joined the stage as the trio performed Meek's Dreamchasers 2 single 'Amen.' The Philly MMG MC's debut album, Dreams & Nightmares is scheduled to drop on October 30.

Nas and Miguel brought the bad b*tches and champagne wishes to Detroit's Masonic Temple stage last night. Sans Swizzy, their joint performance of 'Summer On Smash,' the banger off of Nas' latest album Life Is Good, was one of the best parts of the Motor City spot for the sixth annual 'Uncapped' concert sponsored by Vitamin Water and The Fader.
'Uncapped' continues to kill it with mixed genres of music from hip-hop to EDM to indie rock. The roster this year included Passion Pit, Kendrick Lamar, Little Dragon, Big Boi, and more but their Detroit installment featured special guests also featured indie duo Matt & Kim.

I've never regretted quitting piano lessons more than this very moment. Piano master Chill Gonzales does magical things with the keys. The Lil Wayne witchhunt is happening. They're building a pire in Times Square and when the proud Gothamites catch him, he's gonna have to face a citizens' jury just like that scene in Dark Knight Rises.
How dare you not love New York?!? Haven't you read our plastic bags? Don't you know that New York birthed Hip Hop? Have you tasted our tap water? Do you follow El Bloombito?
(Is it ok to remove some rotten tomatoes from the composting station in Park Slope?'because I need something to throw at Weezy when the angry mob catches him.)
Ok seriously'I know folks are mad because Lil Wayne told MTV that he 'flat out, doesn't like New York.' But he has had some trying experiences here (i.e., that Rikers Island jail bid), and he imagines that folks don't like him here (even though his appearances are always jampacked), and he thinks something might have happened at SummerJam (but he can't quite recall what). Now Weezy is totally entitled to that opinion, but obviously it's not NYC's fault that he got caught with a burner in 2009.
But how serious can I be when we have a New York State Senator (Malcolm Smith) holding a press conferences in Times Square, demanding that Lil Wayne apologize because:
'He should also know anecdotally or not, he's insulted the memory of Frank Sinatra. And he's also insulted Jay-Z. Both have made endearing songs about New York.'
This is going way left'and I love it.

Your right there are MANY places in the world beyond NY. Cheaper, safer, cleaner'..yet in spite of that and how not great NY is everyone has an opinion for or about us.

Not only that, in this case, he would seem to have a 100% legit reason for not liking it. They put him in prison for months' for a gun sitting on a tour bus. I would be pissed too. Most states wouldn't give a shit about it.
